I just read that they have cancelled Dollhouse, an original show with original ideas and great story plots. What I am fuming about at the moment is that unless you are a spin off of the million showings of Law and Order, CSI, NCIS, any number of ridiculous reality shows you don't stand a chance. Joss Whedon has created a show here that allows users to go into a world of unknown possiblities, to use their imaginations, to enjoy something completely new on Television instead of the same shows played over and over again. My Goodness people can't we enjoy something besides out of the headlines stories. Geez already. Give Dollhouse a chance.

... in addition to the above, looks like the public that enjoy a plot that makes them "think" a little beyond the "all-given" stories have to give up with today's TV programming. Thumbs DOWN for Fox if the decision has been made to cancel this show already. If instead, this is a test to see how many of us (your tele-spectators) are pissed enough to write something about it, open a poll and see for yourselves. Oh yes, but make it clear because navigating through the site trying to find a "customer service email" is impossible.

Not to mention one REALLY HUGE spoiler about Echo. If that's true, I'd caution anyone to read the interview. But well, I think this post has enough spoiler warnings, so... visit that link at your own peril.

There was a thread here today about this already, posted by Gusar.
Since it got deleted maybe because of some profanity language (I guess?) and I think the news is very relevant, I'll post this again.
Looks like that, after the next October 23rd episode, the show will only return in December because Fox decided to pull it during November sweeps and replace it with "House" and "Bones" reruns... This sucks really big time and it could in fact be it for our show...

Kelsey Grammer's "Hank", Whedon's "Dollhouse" Canceled
By REUTERS Published: November 11, 2009
http://www.nytimes.com/reuters/2009/11/11/arts/entertainment-us-cancellations.html?_r=1
Personally, we just cancelled our cable. Time Warner called us personally to ask why, and we told them because Fox cancelled Dollhouse.
I PREDICT FOX WILL SOON DEVOLVE INTO PABLUM.
Joss, please keep up the creativity and find a better network or media outlet soon. We all need something interesting to watch and we'll be waiting for you.
" Not a huge surprise, but disappointing none the less. Joss needs to work with SyFy or someone...basically anyone but Fox!

Fox, NOT everybody can be as forgiving as the VIEWERS of Fox 'news'! Some people have brains, and look for something that COULD require THOUGHT!!! 'Arrested Development' - gone! 'Andy Takes On The Universe' (or whatever it was called)- gone! Hell, your line-up is making 'Melrose Place' look smart! 'Firefly' shut down while you AIR 'American Dad'?!? REALLY!!! Patrick Warbutton (IS that his last name?) HAS a funny voice, but the WHOLE 20 minutes you have to hear it (with NOTHING funny being said) is kind of like going to a bad concert that leaves a ringing in your ears for a week! If Rupert is intent on some sort of Australian take-over of the U.S., he should try to be less obvious! Eventually, the stupid will kill themselves off, like lemmings. Fox 'News', canceling good shows, while keeping the inane 'shows' on the air will catch up! If Murdoch ISN'T hell bent on a U.S. take over through television- just what IS his problem with Joss Whedon?!?

My weekly recap/analysis of Epiosde 4 has been posted to http://save-dollhouse.blogspot.com/. This was my favorite episode of Dollhouse thus far. We were treated to a Sierra-centric episode that told us so much more about ALL of the players involved. This episode certainly exposed the darker side of Rossum, and we saw Adele’s humanitarian, noble facade crumble before our eyes. We also got to see Topher evolve significantly; he’s finally beginning to see people as more than scientific subjects, and he’s developing a bit of morals and conscience in himself. And we finally began to see the dolls emerging as people themselves, both in and out of their doll-like states.
For all my thoughts, please visit my blog. They're way longer than posting limits here allow.

The thing you have to love and admire about Joss is that the journey he takes us on just never gets old. Through all of the twists and turns of his many shows, no matter how well you *think* you understand his characters and their motives, just when you expect it might become boring, Joss steps in and says "not only did you miss major implications of these characters, the things you missed are important. Hang on; I am about to rock your world."
Think you understand Adele as a detached captain whom you cannot even imagine away from her position on the bridge? Better not think it.
You think you understand that Topher is an amoral scientist who sees "dolls" as nothing more than his own super-cool toys? Oh please.
Are you really so sure that Sierra would be better off away from the Dollhouse? You really haven't been paying attention, have you?
But the reason this episode smacks you in the face the way it does is not just because of the character development and the many hours you will spend contemplating what will come, but from the moral lesson that Joss gives. What really counts about this episode and what we have to understand about the Dollhouse is: homicide can be moral, but outside of the Dollhouse--the bastion of evil that it is--no one would help Sierra find justice. No one.
Is your moral sense tingling yet? It ought to be. This is a great show.

How can anyone compare to Joss Whedon. His talents are indescribably brilliant. From Buffy to his latest Dollhouse. To me it's still unbelievable how the networks have been continually screwing him by canceling some of the most amazing shows ever aired, but yet keep stuff like So You Think You Can Dance, or CSI or ER or some other lame show that is so repetitious it's ridiculous. Dollhouse has to be one of his finest works yet. I love the suspense with twists and turns around every corner and corners you never see coming. Joss is not only a talented writer but also has a talent to bring together an amazing writing team as well as finding the perfect actors and actresses to play the rolls for his works. I think it's time for Joss to consider buying his own network station to air his shows so that they never get canceled by other network idiots. I get totally heart broken every-time one of Josses shows gets canceled. I keeping my fingers crossed and hoping and praying this doesn't happen again with Dollhouse after only 2 seasons. So Joss if you happen to read this PLEASE buy your own network station that runs only Joss Whedon shows and movies! Not only would it be great but you would prbably make a fortune doing it besides. Thanks Joss for all the great years and works.

As November settles in (the month, not the doll) I am trying to get through this month without visiting the dollhouse. As if the door has been locked and all the actives are asleep, I fill the time as best as I can. The other evening the misses and I watched Haunted, one of my faves. Last night, I entered into a marathon of Aeon Flux the animated series while downing a few Killians. Hopefully by Thanksgiving I won't be resorting to the fears that the Dollhouse will be closed for good. So far, I dropped the hate. Here is hoping I do not pick it back up. I am open to suggestions as to what things I can do with these hours until December rolls around. Peace!

I agree with others that catching up on some other really good shows might help satisfy you until then. Besides Dollhouse, I'm only really watching Supernatural and Mad Men. Since the latter just ended its season last weekend, I'm in double withdrawals right now!

Hi, I'm New here :) I Love Dollhouse, and can't wait for Season 2! I was just wondering what guest stars you would like to see in the upcoming seasons. These are Mine
Sarah Michelle Gellar- She could be a client who lost a friend a long time ago, and came to the Dollhouse for comfort. At the end of the Ep, before Echo gets her "Treatment", she could turn around and say "See ya later B". SMG smiles and walks away as Echo gets into the Van.
Clare Kramer- I've read a bit of requests that in S2, the main "Villian" could be a rival Dollhouse. Clare's portrayal of Glory got me thinking that she could be the head of that Dollhouse. Glory and Adelle are total opposites in their personality, and it would be nice to see Clare in that type of role.
That's all for me, what about you guys?

Hasta la vista...er, maybe not. If Joss actually wrote the open letter, not only is it a spoof of the whole Hollywood "rights" charade, but it is a spoof of Joss...and a bad one at that.
I can absolutely see Joss spoofing himself, but with a bit more finesse. The writing style is not his nor is the "approach" used in the spoof. Funny, yes. Joss, no. At least in my mind.

"Okay, but he reeeaaalllly went off character in how he wrote it. Maybe that was his point? Wanted to get us wondering if he really had written the piece?" It was a bit juvenile in parts, so I see what you mean. Maybe he just wrote it quickly as a little joke without thinking it would spread like wildfire on the Web?
