Just the fact that people are talking about it so much should be promising, as I'm sure there are plenty of upcoming shows that we haven't even heard about in the media... and that don't have full-fledged fan sites devoted to them before they even start!

That's awesome. I love NPH! He is such a good singer. Can't wait for my Dr. Horrible's DVD. Jack Black was really great in this, too, and since when is Margaret Cho so skinny?!

Mother Jones just did an interview with Joss, which you can read here:
http://www.motherjones.com/arts/qa/2008/11/media-jones-interview-inside-the-dollhouse.html
Pretty interesting read and not the usual fluff questions from the interviewer. We were just watching Toy Story in my house tonight and my husband finally realized that Joss co-wrote it! He couldn't believe it. :P

So, in Joss' latest blog posting he mentioned that famed nerd-boy comedian, and one of my personal patron saints Patton Oswalt was going to be on the show. Personally, I'm all for this. Patton's a great actor and comedian, and I love the idea of him working with Joss. Is anyone else excited about this?

Did anyone see that ping pong movie, "Balls of Fury?" I haven't watched it yet, but I know Patton's in it. I just saw a trailer for it at the beginning of my "Hot Fuzz" DVD and thought it was a coincidence, since we were just talking about Patton.

i just found these two sites: http://www.hollywood.com/tv/Dollhouse/5220438 http://www.inbaseline.com/project.aspx?project_id=192094
they both have a list of Directors which goes as follows:
Felix Enriquez Alcala Steven S DeKnight David Solomon Joss Whedon Rod Hardy Terrence O'Hara David Straiton Allan Kroeker James A Contner Elodie Keene
some of that we know, some of that is new. it would be nice to see Contner and Kroeker work on a Whedon-show again. it would also be nicer, if we could actually confirm that list. anybody know something? any news on the episode order? or the writers?

So the final sweeps period of 2008 comes to an end today. The first one of 2009 beings after Dollhouse premieres. FOX has run absolutely no ads for Dollhouse in the last available sweeps period to do so before the show begins airing.

Maybe they will start hammering away when it gets closer to the pilot. Someone on here was complaining that they were seeing the promo too much. I don't really watch a ton of network television, so I don't know what they've been promoting on TV.

Great, this is all we need after the writer's strike hampered some of our favorite shows. True, we also got Dr. Horrible's out of the deal, but I really don't want this to happen while Dollhouse is trying to get off the ground!

This is slightly OT, but it does concern Tahmoh Penikett. So I hope this is OK.
Tahmoh is one of the actors who have thrown their support behind a non-profit organisation called Caleb's Hope that is dedicated to improving the lives of women and children affected by war, poverty and HIV/AIDS. Projects are currently centred on Kenya and Uganda. Tahmoh's done a photoshoot showcasing the paper beads made by the women who are part of the Nya Campaign, aimed at creating jobs for these women.
You can read more about the organisation here: http://calebshope.org/ or join the Facebook group at http://www.new.facebook.com/group.php?gid=16792688014
It's for a good cause, and I hope people will check it out, spread the word and get involved in some way. Thank you. Sorry for interrupting the usual 'Dollhouse' discussion. :)

Hey,
So, the first episode of Dollhouse is shot and almost finished (title sequence! music! Katya from Neighbours!).
When Joss Whedon and friends made "DR HORRIBLE'S SING ALONG BLOG", they managed to get a number one (on iTunes) web series and number one selling soundtrack from it. Thanks to us. Fanboys and fangirls. Fangeeks, in fact. I think this is proof Joss fans can launch a niche product online to a wider audience with the correct platform.
And that platform is: Hulu.com.
Fox have a business stake in Hulu. Hulu content can be embedded in blogs, websites, Facebook etc.
See where I'm goin' with this?
Put the first episode (or half of it, even) on Hulu. Don't cost you (FOX) anythin'. (In fact, Hulu has adverts, so you'll probably make a small amount). Tell us. We'll tell other people, and give you a wide audience. For us, we get an episode. Advantage us. For you, you get a wider audience of likely 18-49 webbers, who maybe don't follow Joss' work. Advantage you. It also gives you control of pilot distribution (leaky leaky), demographic stats from Hulu and the buzz of being confident enough in Joss' product to let people see it a bit early. Plus, it would be a huge web launch. Biggest series to date. Really. We're Whedonites.
It's an advantage love fest, and I'd like you to join. Anybody agree?

Yes, I agree with theonetruebix, too. The first five minutes of The Dark Knight was all over the place online before the movie came out. It certainly made me want to run out and watch the movie, whereas I might have waited until it came out on DVD otherwise.
It would be cool to see the Dollhouse pilot sooner rather than later!

I wouldn't read too much into it. They did have a bit of retooling to do, which would explain pushing it back. As for the days, who knows... what else is usually shown on Monday? Maybe there will be less competition on Friday?

"i had to read it, i couldn't help myself. Darn my pesky spoiler addiction! it does sound great. and if inventors spent less time on iphones and more time on time-machines i wouldn't have so long to wait to see it *glares at scientists*" LOL, yes, but wasn't it worth it? In a way, this was kind of like reading a great short story and now I can look forward to seeing the "movie" version. Since it's Joss, I know I won't be disappointed (too much); after all, what you see in your mind sometimes is better than the reality of a thing..but that's what makes it fun!
