Rossum's Universal Robots (RUR)

Just in case the other thread gets lost, I'll post it this way to be sure everyone catches the significance of the name chosen for the pharmaceutical company. Rossum's Universal Robots was a play written by Karel Capek in 1921 and is uber famous. In it he coined the word ROBOT, so you can figure out why the Dollhouse 'verse has included this nod to historic SciFi. R.U.R. was on the surface about a company that created robots to take over manual labor, but it seems to me to be much more a story of dehumanization. In the end, all humans are gone (killed), but at least two robots have begun the journey towards a new humanity. Do you find this valuable?

Yeah, but I added some detail from the first post. Besides, it's my mission in life to elucidate the obscure, since fans of the Whedonverse may not be aware of the topic. And redundant would be :D :D. So there. So there.

Great catch on the literary reference. Maybe it hints at what Rossum, and in turn the Dollhouses ultimate goal is. I'll have to keep an eye out for other references. Do you find this valuable?
