Tough Act to Follow?

Wow. Talk about creating expectations. This was one of the best segments of any series ever. We have so much to look forward to now, the only downside is the worry that no one, not even Joss, can keep this level up. I remember so many series that promised the moon and ended up disappointing in the final episode. Time will tell.... Do you find this valuable?

The only disappointment would be if Fox nixes future seasons. Joss is setting up a complex premise with depths we can only guess at. I see no way that he could even pull off a Serenity-like wrap-up with this one. As great as Firefly was, it was essentially space opera. Very good, but also without too much complexity. Dollhouse has just shown the beginnings of what is to come. We may not know its true colors, let alone find resolution, for seasons to come. There are secrets that Joss is holding back. That is the nature of Dollhouse. Unlike anything JW has done before, there are secrets within secrets to this one. I won't be convinced I really know what is going on until the last episode of the last season has faded to black...and maybe not even then. Do you find this valuable?

I think things are only going to get better and better. The numbers aren't completely dire and there is a ton of online buzz about the show, so I'm not too freaked out about cancellation.

I'm really positive that it the show will be fine. There's been so much good buzz about the show on the internet, especially after episode 6. Although I do disagree with Firefly not being complex. It had plenty of beginnings of good plot, but it was cancelled before anything could come to fruit. There was the storyline of who Book really was, River's backstory with Blue Sun, who the hell Blue Sun really is, etc. Serenity only partially answered these questions for me. I loved the movie, but I wanted more -something that could've answered questions that have been left hanging. To cancel Dollhouse would be worse, because it's already shown a lot of what's going on (although everything is still hidden) and given teases and no resolutions yet. More meat to the story has been shown for Dollhouse than it had been for Firefly, so we would be missing more.
That said, I see more Joss humor coming up in the preview of next week's episode. And it seems they're going to answer some, if not all, of the backstories of the main dolls featured.

I really liked this episode. I admit the remote activating was pretty cool. Then they remotely turned her back. I do kinda agree that it is going to be tough to be better then this episode. That being said Joss can do it. the reason I say this is that yes there was some action in this episode but what I think most people or at least my self liked the most was the story aspect to it. I'm sure he is building the story to get stronger and stronger. Do you find this valuable?
