maybe they asked for it to be made slightly lighter/ more humerous as dollhouse was going to be a little darker than Joss' previous shows. they may feel something with a more humerous edge would attract more viewers. Didn't they ask for the character Mal in firefly to be made a bit lighter than joss originally intended?

Frankly, it scares me when FOX gets involved with its shows. Look what it did to Firefly. I just don't want Dollhouse canceled.

Less sex, more violence? Just kidding (I think).I agree with Ashera that they wanted more humor inserted. Do you find this valuable? |

Well, just like Joss stood his ground on Willow (execs wanted a prettier girl), I think they probably wanted to ditch Dichen and Olivia for larger breasted women with poutier lips. Bet me. Do you find this valuable? |

IMO the show needs to stop yanking the chain. It's like we the audience see she's obviously having flashbacks.. this leads you to think she obviously will eventually remember everything along with the other two. Ok, that's pretty much obvious by now. The problem I have, is like last week's episode. You get to know and see everything. We see all the dolls remember everything as well, but something always happens and no one ever remembers any of it. It is getting annoying to me. It's like without the programming she remembers everything.. then she is wiped clean (and maybe given a new persona for a mission) but still shouldn't she still remember? If her "default" brain (child like state) has these flashbacks why doesn't she remember once she gets back to the dollhouse still? Maybe I am not understanding this properly but to me the show seems like it is locked in a paradox or something. Also I hop fox added katie sackhoff to the cast :D Do you find this valuable? |

"The show was recently retooled mid-production. What kind of changes do you think FOX suggested?"Having read the original Pilot script, I can see one of the major differences being that it didn't dive right into the meat of the story at hand. A lot of the big reveals collected in the first 3 or 4 episodes were all present in "Echo" (Echo's compositing personalities and growing self awareness, Ballard's continuing investigation, getting shot and the eventual reveal of Victor in the last act) FOX probably found this to be a bit thematically thick and wanted the series to be more procedural and easier to access as a new viewer. However, what they didn't factor in is the pedigree of television Joss' loyal fanbase come to expect from everything he's involved in. So, while we've got 4 pretty good hours of TV by some standards, this also amounts to 4 hours that could be used to delve into the Dollverse in full force, not tiptoe around the deeper meaning and narrative intent while Echo plays backup singer/subconscious bodyguard to a bratty pop star or re-enacting Richard Connell's The Most Dangerous Game (of which I just realized is both the author of the story and the alias of the character in the episode... well played...) I'm glad it's over the hump and starting to put things together. These last two weeks have got me thoroughly addicted to DH. Do you find this valuable? |

Bad ones I reckon, they plain old scare me! I mean Joss and Eliza can't bite the hand that feeds them but they all but came out and said that it was their baby by episode 6 and boy did it start getting really good then, which indicates that fox certainly tooled around with the previous eps. but not for the better. "Bad ones I reckon, they plain old scare me!With the exception of the Ballard plotline, episodes 1-5 could've fallen anywhere in the season, though honestly, I'm glad they got them out of the way early. These last two (and what looks like the next one as well) have kicked my ass with awesomeness. Do you find this valuable? |

These last two (and what looks like the next one as well) have kicked my ass with awesomeness."You're right about that. I guess I'm glad they came in early because had they come in when we move into they main plot I would have been annoyed about not getting new info and would have called them fillers. I think FOX liked Joss's idea about the breadth of possibilities in the dollhouse and wanted that shown first (look at the different roles Echo played in the episodes) before we got into the dark and heavy meat of the show. Also, perhaps, to allow room for the show to mutate in a variety of directions based on what viewers responded to, do viewers want it lighter, heavier, more comedic? Maybe they wanted a wide net to catch as many viewers as possible before becoming another conspiracy show. Don't know. I hope the episodes get better. I looked forward to seeing the dolls in action together in the last one and Victor and Sierra really only got costume changes. Do you find this valuable? |

Changes Fox wanted:1. Each episode shows the actives during a 24-hour period. 2. Replace Amy Acker with House as the Dollhouse doctor. 3. Simon Cowell would vote out actives at random. 4. Any doll failing his/her mission would be berated by Chef Gordon Ramsey. 5. Stewie from Family Guy would replace Dewitt. 6. Dolls would break out of prison every other week. 7. Dolls would be tested periodically to see if they are Smarter than a 5th grader. andddddd.......(drumroll) 8.. One of the dolls is a secret millionaire! 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

"So happy Bones didn't make your mock list. I love that show.I choose to blame Tim Kring for making other sci-fi writers look bad. "Oh, sci-fi writers can't keep their shit together, look at what happened to Heroes in it's second and third season... we don't want that to happen to the Dollhouse, we'd better tell you how to approach this idea..." Also, based on that list they would've wanted to change the title to "IdollHouse, MD" Do you find this valuable? |

"I choose to blame Tim Kring for making other sci-fi writers look bad.Agreed. I loved Heroes in season 1 and stuck through season 2 even though it was sub-par. I recently gave up on it after the plots and the character's actions made no sense what-so-ever. Do you find this valuable? |
