The Buffy thread
Ok, so I mentioned in another thread I watched Season 1 and found it cheesy. I've now watched the first 4 episodes of season 2. It is getting a little better. Here are my observations though:
1) A 241 year old Vampire stalking a 16 year-old girl/slayer. Is it just me or does Angel need to be on one of those Dateline Online Predator specials??
2) I'm not big on how they portray the vampires. Ok, I've only seen one episode with Spike and I like him so far. Why do the other vampires have to be complete morons though? Also, in the episode Buffy throws a chair at Spike and it knocks him down. I thought Vamps were supposed to be stronger/more agile. Heck, I could've dodged that chair and I'm an out of shape 36 year old man. :P
3) I still found the jokes (with a few exceptions) unfunny and juvenile.
Don't get me wrong. It is not my intention to knock Buffy or it's fans. I really, really WANT to like this show. I know someone said it takes until mid season 2 to get going. I'm going to give it the rest of the season before giving up on it. Any thoughts from you Buffy fans?

Last season, someone always created a discussion thread starting with the cast/guest stars/writer/director/synopsis info that was labeled as a SPOILER thread for each episode and that's where we started the discussion of the episode after viewing it. Is someone doing that again this season?

(*SPOILERS*) Babylon5 Thread
Rather than hi-jack the Buffy Thread, I figured I would start a new one for Bab5. I have been trying to find a "basement" for off-topic (non Dollhouse, non Whedon) threads but have had no luck.
I just watched the pilot of Babylon5 "The Gathering," and here is what I have gathered from it. Feel free to correct spelling or facts.
GENERAL BACKSTORY:
The year is 2257. Babylon 5 is the fifth station Earth has built in neutral space. Babs 1-3, were sabotaged and destroyed. Bab4 mysteriously vanished.
There are five major races. Human, Mimbari, Centauri, Narn, and Vorlon.
Earth and the Mimbari were at war. Earth was making a final stand in a battle they call "the line." Even though the Mimbari were winning, they suddenly surrendered. There is a rumor they did this because of a religious order on their planet called the Gray Council.
The Narns were conquered and enslaved by the Centauri. The Centauri were once more powerful but their power is waning.
The Vorlons are a super secretive race and no one is supposed to see them.
Earth now has a group of telepaths that can scan people. These people belong to the Psi-corps and are licensed.
The commander of the station was in "the line" battle but blacked out. When he regained consciousness the Mimbari had surrendered and the war was over.

The Firefly/Serenity Thread (Spoilers for both)
"To each his own, dear. There are some men that would be happy to know you'd be one of those no strings attatched, completely casual type of gal." I mean, I do have the ability to like guys, but I just don't think I can ever marry. Maybe a dating relationship, but I can't even consider marriage, and then being a mom one day! I've seen the "Miracle of Life" documentary, and frankly, I do not want to go through that...ever. Not for all the money or power in the world (as much as I like money and power). I dunno, I can't care for anyone, and that makes me extremely upset sometimes.
I have had friends tell me that they get this vibe from me that one day, I'm going to have one of those romance novel style lives, where a guy sweeps me off my feet or whatever. I said, "What? Yeah right.". I get more than enough of those reading fanfiction and stumbling across the occasional Nicholas Sparks romance movie on ABC Family, thank you very much. It just doesn't happen. Reality isn't like that; reading about your experiences in the MENTAL thread solidified that for me. Besides, I don't expect it, not with my looks or attitude. I'm a very pessimistic gal in RL, subject to not talking, glaring, and staring blankly at people I don't know all that well.

And you should see it!
I figured that since we have a Buffy thread, we should start a Firefly thread too. Only because I just got done watching the series for the umpteenth time and want to dish with other fans. And cry with other fans. Maybe shake our fists at the sky and ask "Why, Fox, why?" Although, at some points I want to scream "Why, Joss, why?!" Particularly at the end of Serenity (the movie, not the first episode of Firefly).
So what does everyone else think?

I've had some problems with mine, it quits on me and sometimes runs slow. I do everything I think should be done, clear out cache and data. Was waiting for an update.
