Who else hates Paul Ballard?
Is it just me or does anyone else think that Paul Ballard is the worst character on the show? I just cant find any reason to root for him at all.
He is just a tactless thug. In 'Man on the Street' Ballard basically breaks the arm of a fellow FBI agent just because that FBI agent hurt Ballard feelings with some mean words. In 'Needs' Ballard rams the face of a tech guy onto a table when the tech guy doesn't imediatley respond to Ballard's questions. When compared to the shrewd and clever machinations of Adelle or the conflicted caring and tenderness of Boyd, Ballard is just such a flat, terrible character. Ballard has no subtlety, no cleverness, no nothing except for an obsession that Patton Oswalt pinpointed perfectly as being pretty darn creepy. Furthermore the only reason Ballard has gotten anywhere close to Dollhouse is based on pure dumb luck, like him seeing Echo on the random news channel, or being mailed pictures by Alpha or called by Echo herself. I love this series and Dollhouse has a wonderful cast of complex, well-developed characters, so why is Ballard the least likeable and least developed character getting so much airtime as the guy that we are supposed to get behind and root for? and root for?

Ballard recruitment????
That's been bugging me since the beginning. I wanna know why he's an EX-cop. where'd the EX come in? That is a good theory, but I don't think Ballard would go for it. He's spent all of this time looking for the Dollhouse so he can bring it down and 'save' all of those poeple, and it got him fired. Excuse me 'suspended from action'. So I don't think he would accept a job offer there unless he had some secret plan for bringing them down. They probably keep them quiet because the people working there don't seem to morally object, and they probably get paid a ton, and they know they would be seriously punished or sent to the Attic (what is that, by the way) or whatever if they did do something.

I think Paul Ballard kicks ass. Hes hotter then any of the dolls, and
"he pretty much does exactly what needs doing. I guess some people here love grey areas, but I like hot, heroic good men who are willing to fight for the right thing. That weasely agent that got his arm broken certainly deserved it. I would have done worse. I love seeing him in action, and I wish they would dhow more of him, and a lot less of the rodent like scientist. His jokes only go so far. I am just not a big lover of snarky men. There are so many alreay out there." I like both snarky and teh hotness that is the like of Paul Ballard. But since this is a Ballard thread, I will speak no more of it. All hail the drool-inducingness that is Tahmoh's Ballard. *bows down to shirtless statue of Paul*

What will happen between Echo and Ballard in season two?
"They will obviously be a lot closer this season. What do you think will happen?
" It's very complicated to know. My mind tries to play out their personalities, but Ballard's personality isn't matching his previous one. So it's hard to say. I was going to say he was gonna be overly protective over Echo more than Boyd was, but if he so protective over her then he would have had her released instead of Madeline. And if he was gonna try to bring it down then Adelle would have for seen this and not have hired him. Paul's personality in the season finale doesn't match any of his personality from the rest of the season.
Maybe Adelle knows something more than she's letting on. I think Ballard might be more intertwined with the dollhouse than we think. How did he found out about the Dollhouse again? We might find something out there.

Ballard's dilemma: autonomy and personal identity in the Dolliverse
Now I love a good moral dilemma and we have definitely been presented with one. The scene between Ballad/November was so well acted as to be heartbreaking and yet so incomplete and leaving us with even more questions. Up to this point, Ballard has been our spotless hero -- unwavering in his determination and most importantly staunchly moral. But now he comes to a crossroads; a situation he might not have imagined himself in his worst nightmares. How can he, in good conscious, continue this relationship knowing what he now knows? He can't. Nor can he distance himself, if he wants to save her. If he does, then Mellie becomes useless to the Dollhouse, in which case they will pull her and he will have lost her completely, both as a person and as a resource. Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer. Paul can now use Mellie to misdirect the Dollhouse from the true nature of his investigations, but to do this he will be forced to maintain the illusion just has November demanded of him. But in the end, this taints him as a hero -- turns him, unwillingly, into a dirty cop. Perhaps this has been the Dollhouse's plan all along. Maybe through similar processes this is how they get their handlers, like Boyd.

DOLLHOUSE Season 1 WRAP-UP: Top 10 Paul Ballard moments of paranoia...
"We all know the man is paranoid! Add your favorite moments of paranoia from our man Paul right here!" The dream he had with Echo and Mellie. If that's not paranoia I don't know what is. The fact that he's thinking so hardly on it, he dreams of a complete delusional situation where Echo goes off mission just so she can get some nookie from him. This sort of turned into "Paul ballard's top 10 wet dream moments" :p
.....................I Digress, his brain also comes up with the phrase "How did they know what we shared?" which is somewhat paranoid also. haha.

Question about Paul and Echo!!!!
Okay, for anyone who watches the extras or the Comic-Con, etc. When Tahmoh (Paul Ballard) messed up the very first shooting of the show, saying "wallhouse" instead of "dollhouse", he's talking to Echo. Have we seen that episode, with those two together? I know we've seen the one where she beats the crap out of him in the kitchen/alleyway.
Did we already see this clip of them together? I know in the outtake, paul says "Where'd you hear about 'wall' house, and then he sets some keys down.
