Dollhouse Wiki Code of Conduct
(1) Membership:The 10 Rules - Respect Your Peers. Although you may not share a member's enthusiasm for a particular character, actor, aspect of the show, etc., please respect their opinion. We encourage you to discuss opinions as long as they stay respectful. This forum was created to discuss a wide range of topics, and attempts to drive off a member because they have a differing opinion will not be tolerated. If you post with respect, you will be respected. If not, your stay here will be short. We encourage you to post your opinion, but you aren't permitted to insult, harass, or intimidate other members for expressing theirs.Profanity (even if it is masked) and name-calling is also forbidden. Harassment includes, but is not limited to, disparaging or hateful comments based on gender, age, appearance, race, sexual orientation, ethnic background, locality, or religion. The question the moderation team asks when deciding whether to delete a post or thread is: "Is it mean-spirited or malicious?" If the answer is "Yes," it comes down. If a member establishes a pattern of mean-spirited posts, their account will come down. Further considerations...Threads lead strange lives. Many begin well but deteriorate into flaming, bashing, and general negativity. If a thread becomes dominated by this type of post, the entire thread will be deleted.
- Do not use offensive language.Inappropriate, crude, or abusive language is not only unacceptable, it’s a lousy way to convince anyone of your point. Any posts that contain such language will be deleted. Repeated offensive language will result in your membership being suspended or canceled.
- No Flaming. There are no stupid questions — Everyone’s input is welcomed and honored. “Flaming” others or demeaning their participation may build your self-esteem, but it won’t help build community spirit. Repeated flaming will result in your membership being suspended or canceled.
- Report inappropriate Content/Behavior. If you see an offensive or abusive post (or one that violates the forum policies in some way), please report inappropriate content or behavior to the Moderators, and refrain from electronic arguments with the perpetrator.
- Do Not Post In Uppercase. In Internet terms, posting in all uppercase constitutes yelling. Please respect your peers and do not post in uppercase.
- Not A Dating Service. This is not Match.com or eHarmony.com. Dollhouse fans come here to chat with other Dollhouse fans about the show. They do not come here to be hit on.
- Respect the cast of Dollhouse.Do not post any revealing or embarrassing photographs that are clearly an invasion the actor's privacy. she has a right to respect and privacy, just as each of us does. Photo's or content deemed inappropriate will be removed. Threads or posts that violate this rule will be deleted without notice.
- No Self-promotion or Marketing. This is a no-no. The Dollhouse wiki exists to support an organic and communal body of information. Shameless self-promotion or hawking of wares is strictly forbidden. Any infraction will result in your membership being canceled.
- No Spamming or Advertising. This site is a community for Dollhouse fans to talk about the show. Posting of advertisements and/or spamming is strictly forbidden. Any infraction will result in your membership being canceled.
- Do Not Plagiarize Material. Do not publish content that is trademarked or copyrighted. If you are on another site, please contact the author or the webmaster to obtain their permission before posting here. Make sure to reference the author in your post. The other alternative is to include a link in your post to the other web site.
(2) Off-topic (OT) Threads
OT threads will be tolerated within reason. OT threads concerning offensive topics or spam are not allowed. For some members, off-topic threads can be distracting. For others, off-topic threads are a way to come together as a community. Given various members views on OT threads, it does not seem appropriate for this wiki to implement specific rules for OT threads.
(3) Political/Religious Discussions Dollhouse will deal with many ethical dilemmas. However, we must tread lightly with political and religious discussions. These topics come with a lot of emotions and strong opinions. Should any such topics become inflammatory, they can and will be deleted without notice.

Questions. At any time you have a question, wish to share an idea, need to lock or unlock pages, or need to report inappropriate behavior (flaming, foul language, spamming, etc.), feel free to send a private message to any of the moderators. All of your PMs (Private Messages) are confidential and follow-ups are handled with discretion.(8) Warning! Please Do Not Feed The Trolls
Someone who purposely joins an online community to cause problems and to irritate other users is often referred to as a "troll". As suggested by the popular sign at left, the easiest way to get rid of a troll is to not feed him, i.e. do not encourage a trouble maker by responding. It is your heated response that fuels a troll- they want you to notice them. They want you to be irritated.
Please report inappropriate behavior to a site moderator.
