Synopsis:

Echo is imprinted to be the female counterpart to an avid outdoorsman and quickly learns how the hunter becomes the hunted during her wilderness adventure.

Agent Ballard receives a clue to Echo's real identity, encouraging him to continue his investigation, while flashbacks reveal the tragic events at the Dollhouse that led to Boyd's arrival and Dr. Saunders' scars. [Fox]

- Hallucinates the video-message of herself in college for the video yearbook after being drugged by Richard.
- After almost drowning, she remembers the night of Alpha's rampage, including seeing the other actives dead in the shower around her, and telling Laurence Dominick "They won't wake up.", she also remembers seeing Alpha standing there with a knife but she can't see his face.
Clues to self-awareness:
-After drinking poisoned water, Echo begins to have hallucinations of her former mission's personas, her real self, and herself in the mind-wiped state. And the night of Alpha's killing spree.
-Echo does the "Shoulder to the Wheel" gesture in her mind-wiped state.

Boyd starts to show concern and affection towards Echo by the end of the episode instead of seeing her as an empty vase.

  • The Client's name, Richard Connell, is the name of the author who wrote the short story 'The Most Dangerous Game, a story that, like this episode, one person being hunted by another.

  • Richard Connell: "Prove that you're not just an echo!"
  • When after they have sex he gets up and non-chalantly suggests she hurries up and leaves now, that he'll give her a 5 minute headstart, it's like, What, seriously?!?!
