WHEDON'S WINKS, NODS, AND NUDGES
A big-time Joss fan follows all his work: TV, film, and comic books. A really astute Joss fan may also be aware of the film scripts on which he is an uncredited contributor. A dedicated Browncoat might even know which lines of Joss’s made it to final shooting scripts. Being a Joss devotee adds the joy of finding little nods to fans all over his body of work. Once detected, these winks, nods, and nudges make you feel like you're in on a little something extra.

Wink, nod, or nudge: Dollhouse Season 1, Ep. 3 "Stage Fright" shows a couple of paramedics wearing distinctly blue colored gloves, giving a props nod to Alliance antagonists' "two by two, hands of blue" from Whedon's Firefly.

Wink, nod, or nudge:
Tabula Rasa is mentioned in the first episode, and anyone who knows Buffy, knows that Tabula Rasa was the name of the episode where Willow accidentally wiped clear the memories of all the scoobies :-)
Also, Amy Acker plays a scientist, as she was in Angel when they took over Wolfram And Hart.

Wink, nod, or nudge: Mark Sheppard's character states near the beginning of 1.6 that Caroline is a *****. A ***** with a Heart of Gold, referring to an episode of Firefly called Heart of Gold where the crew defended a ***** house against a major incursion.

Wink, nod, or nudge: The special imprint which partially restored Echo, Victor, Sierra and November's personalities on 1x08, "Needs", was programmed to sedate them as they get "some sense of resolve", just like the gipsy curse which restored Angel's soul ended as he's experienced one moment of pure happiness

The first episode of Dollhouse Ghost had a active wearing an outfit similar to to the one that Willow wore in Nightmares where she was starring as Madame Butterfly. also Topher eating a Twinkee with Sierra reminded me of the episode Inca Mummy Girl. Only it was Xander eating the Twinkee with Ampata. The song Superstar in the episode Stage Fright reminded of the Episode Superstar with Jonathon. The name Rayna remined me of Ethan Rayne from Buffy. When Adelle and Victor were sword fighting it was said this is a real bodice ripper. I thought of Ripper or Giles from Buffy. When Echo said she once knwe a pirate I thought she was referring to Xander.
